How to Determine If a Website Has an Affiliate Program

So, you found a website related to your niche, which offers some great products targeting your niche and you want to see if they have an affiliate program.

The first thing to do is to skim the homepage to see if there is a page related to an affiliate program. What you will be looking for is a link that says one of the following: Affiliates, Affiliate Program, Become an Affiliate, Partners, Partner Program, Become a Partner, Referral Program or something like that. Often times, it is difficult to spot that link, but if it exists, it will most probaby be to the bottom of the homepage or on a page like “About Us” or “Company Info”.

If you can’t locate such a link, you could do a quick search adding one of the terms -affiliate, partner or  referral- to the name of the website and see if you can find anything. If you can’t, it is either because they don’t have one or it is not open to the public. In this case, the only thing you can do is to contact them via email or phone and ask if they have an affiliate program. Most of the business owners will gladly give you the info you seek.

Let’s say, they replied and told you that they don’t have an affiliate program at that moment. Yet, you really want to promote those products that the website offer and get a commission by doing so. In this case, what you need to do is to tell them how you can promote their products, drive traffic and prospects to their website. Speak as professional as you can be. Even better than that, send them some traffic if you can and show the traffic stats to persuade them.

If the business owner is entrepreneur enough to take the necessary actions, you could even make a special contract just applying to you. Afterall who could say not to more visitors and more sales if somebody will do the work for them?
